Happy Mother's Day
Mood:  happy

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.

Make it a great day!

The face of homeless has changed

Atlanta’s job losses have been the second-worst in the nation, behind only Detroit. With a jobless rate of 7.5 percent, Georgia has roughly three job seekers for each opening, according to the state Labor Department.

March 14, Meeting
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: Speaker: Mother Flo Perry
Topic: The Power of Prayer

Sis. Toinette did our icebreaker. Each woman had to pick a number. Starting with number one the person would have to say their name, favorite color, and favorite saying or scripture. The next person would have to say the previous people’s response and add their own. It was a test of memory. Some of the favorite scriptures were Psalms 23, 27, 96, 121.

Scripture references were the following:

II Kings 18: 1-2, 5,13

I Peter 4:12

Joel 2:28

When God calls you no man can stop you. They can delay you but can not deny you!

II Kings 19:7

Isaiah 43:19

Isaiah 42:16

I Corinthians 1:27

Eph 4:11,12

PUSH – Prayer until something happens

Mother Flo gave the ladies two challenges:

  1. Mother Flo issued each person a pair of blessed socks. She advised us to take a bath in Epsom salt, olive oil, and pray for about 15 mins or more. After taking the bath and praying put on the blessed socks. It will give us a peaceful night’s rest. Some ladies took socks for their husbands and children as well.
  2. Plant an obedient seed offering in church tomorrow. To go beyond with your offering.

The prayer request from the meeting are as followed:

  • Sis. Cynthia Knot – Her son Bernard and wife Taiwanna
  • Evangelist Miss’y Joanne Carson – Her daughter Sheila – She has been free of drugs for 40 days
  • Sis. Toinette Ward – Her brother and father suffering with alcoholism. A special prayer for her nephew who is living with her brother.
  • Evangelist Monica Moore – Her father has alhemizers
  • Sis. Norma Poindexter – Her nephew Wayne
  • Pray for our Pastor and First Lady – Bishop Owens and Mother Owens
  • Continue to prayer for the Young Women Christian Council

Perfect love casts out fear
Mood:  hug me
Topic: 1 John 4:18
When your mate looks into your face, what does he see? Does he see acceptance or rejection?
Whether you realize it or not, you are a mirror to your mate. The amount of confidence he has as he deals with people and life is in many ways influenced by whether you accept or reject him.
Self-image, self-esteem, self-concept-these three terms are used to describe not only how your mate mentally sees himself, but how he feels about himself and what value and sense of worth he has internally.
Your mate's self-image is central to all he is and everything he does. It will either hinder or enhance his ability to learn, make decisions, take risks and resolve conflicts with you and others. Your spouse's self-image will either restrain him or refuel him.
When a person has a low self-esteem, he or she often views life through the eyes of fear. The fear of rejection is one of the most powerful forces motivating and controlling people today.
If you want to see your mate's self-image strengthened, then begin to recognize that the fear of rejection is your enemy. Fear will begin to dissolve in your mate under a steady stream of authentic love.
Love is the most powerful agent for change in the universe because love casts out fear! Perfect love-God's love-is more powerful than the fear of rejection. Perfect love that accepts and embraces another, even in his or her weaknesses, will win the power struggle against fear every time.

Prayer:

That God would use each of you to cast out fear through your love.
Discuss: What fears help to govern how your mate reacts in different situations? Discuss with one another how rejection and acceptance have had an impact in your life.

What did you enjoy about the meeting?
Mood:  bright
Topic: Fatal distractions

First, I would like to say, "I Thank the Lord for each of you who attended the meeting.  I pray that something was said or done to strengthen your walk with the Lord."

What I enjoyed most about the meeting was that Sis. Sharon used the New message bible.  By using this translation it really brought a "down to earth feel" to Sis. Sharon's presentation of the word.    Smile

The Young Women’s Christian Council is an organization of young women ages 18-40 married or single whose prime purpose is to dedicate them to greater Christian Service. In addition to spiritual growth and development, this organization addresses the concerns of young women which include finding a mate, home building, decorating, meal planning, parenting, child care and development, understanding teenagers, marital concerns, and etc.

My goal as a leader is to serve the women in the YWCC and in our church, to do whatever is necessary for them to be blessed and grow in Him. I am expecting the Lord to do great things for the YWCC  and all those who are involved this coming year.
